Why Mutt Heads?
About the Organization
Mutt Heads Pet Services started because of our love of rescue and fostering. We have dogs of our own, and we have fostered over 300 animals through local rescues since 2014. We have extensive experience with dogs of different sizes, ages, breeds, energy levels and temperaments - but we specialize in rescue dogs. We are very active in the rescue community. We provide rescue boarding (adoptable dogs) for Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) in our kennel facility, and we personally foster cats for SCARS in our home. Mutt Heads is located on a fully fenced acreage close to Sherwood Park, Edmonton and Beaumont. We are a small scale family owned and operated boarding facility. When we say small scale, we mean really small scale. Our facility only has 6 dog runs, so you know that your pup isn't just a number. Kennel staff are the owners/operators, and we have one contractor (Kelsey with the Cookie Tosser Club) that comes by once a week to help out. This allows us to spend one-on-one time with your dog and make sure that they are getting individualized attention. We will really get to know your dog(s) during their stay!
Mutt Heads is dedicated to our crew. To learn more about our fur family visit the "Ambassador Crew" page.
About the Owners/Operators
Prior to starting Mutt Heads, Cassie obtained her Bachelor of Management degree and worked as a Human Resources professional for almost a decade. Operating Mutt Heads has allowed her to put her business education and her passion for advocating for animals together. Cassie is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) and has completed the Karen Pryor Academy's Dog Trainer Comprehensive program. She has also completed the Fear Free Boarding (Individual) certification program and is a certified Fear Free professional. Her education and experience allows her to understand our boarding clients and make sure that they are set-up for success when staying in our facility.
When not working at Mutt Heads, Steven works as a Firefighter/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT). Steven is a proud member of the Metis Nation of Alberta. He has completed the Karen Pryor Academy's Dog Trainer Fundamentals program. His education and experience has set him up for success working in our environment.
